The smart home sandbox is an integrated, real‑world teaching sandbox designed to showcase and help users understand IoT technologies. It features home‑automation app control, touchscreen panel operation, voice control, environmental monitoring, security systems, multimedia audio‑video capabilities, access‑control surveillance, and alarm‑triggered interlinkages. The system supports customizable scene modes and zone‑based control, enabling both standalone operation and coordinated, interconnected control.
The sandbox consists primarily of a base and a villa model, offering both display functionality and hands-on operability. The villa supports offline voice control, with multiple wake‑word options and command‑based interactions. The villa model can be configured, controlled, and debugged via a mobile app, and it provides a variety of interfaces—including RS485—and an Android SDK for secondary development. Control can be implemented through Wi‑Fi or serial communication protocols, among others.
