Guangdong Construction Vocational and Technical College has established a foundational AI training lab, creating an integrated platform for new‑engineering education, industry‑university‑research collaboration, and innovation.

Guangdong Construction Vocational and Technical College is the only public‑sector higher vocational institution in the province specializing in construction. It serves as a major hub for cultivating high‑quality technical and skilled professionals in the construction industry and as the cradle of “Modern Luban” talent. Over its 42 years of operation, the college has remained firmly rooted in Guangdong, supported the Belt and Road Initiative, and trained more than 200,000 highly qualified technical and skilled personnel, making significant contributions to the development of Guangdong’s construction sector and to the province’s economic and social progress. The institution traces its origins to the Guangdong Provincial Construction Engineering Technical School, founded in 1979; the Guangdong Provincial Construction Engineering School, established in 1986; and, in May 2001, it was approved by the People’s Government of Guangdong Province and filed with the Ministry of Education, elevating it to the status of a higher vocational college. In April 2006, the college was officially transferred from the administration of Guangdong Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd. to the direct oversight of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education.

Guangdong Construction Vocational and Technical College has established a foundational AI training lab, creating an integrated platform for new‑engineering disciplines that fosters industry–university–research collaboration and innovation. The project has established a smart-city innovation application platform, an AI-powered machine-vision teaching platform, and an intelligent sorting robot–based training system. These lab facilities support hands-on instruction in artificial-intelligence courses and engineering practice, fostering innovative technical talent and facilitating the commercialization of research outcomes.
